The Southwest Stingrays Swim Team participates in the Show-Me Conference, a city-wide summer swim league that has existed in Columbia since the 1960s.

The 2026 Southwest Stingrays summer swim season will kick off with the first practice on Monday, June 1. The registration fee for the season is $150 per swimmer.

Practice Schedule

Practice age group divisions are tentative and may be adjusted based on the number of swimmers in each age group.

  • Morning Practices
    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
      • 8 – 9 a.m., 10 & Over
      • 9 – 10 a.m., 9 & Under
    • Wednesday, on meet weeks only
      • 9:00 – 10 a.m. for both age groups
  • Afternoon Practices (members only)
    • Tuesday, Thursday
      • 4:00 – 4:45 p.m., 9 & Under
      • 4:45 – 5:30 p.m., 10 & Over

Age Eligibility

  • A swimmer’s age on June 1 will determine the age group they compete in for the entire summer.
  • To be eligible to compete, a swimmer must not have reached their 18th birthday before June 1.
  • Swimmers may compete in an older age group, but they may not swim in a younger age group.

First Day Swim Evaluations

  • On the first day of practice, coaches will conduct swim evaluations.
  • Swimmers should be able to swim at least half the length of the pool on their own so coaches can assess ability and place them in the appropriate practice group.
  • If you are unsure whether your child is ready for swim team, you are welcome to come to the first practice on Monday, June 1 for an evaluation before registering.

  • June 10 — Southwest at West Broadway/City – AWAY
  • June 17 — Southwest vs. MAC – HOME
  • June 24 — Southwest vs. Country Club of Missouri – HOME
  • July 1 — Southwest at Wilsons Beach Club – AWAY
  • July 8 — Districts
  • July 13 — All Stars at Hickman High School Pool
